2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 Youth Bat Review

SUMMARY: The Spring of 2019 not only brings about the sophomore season of the USA Bat Standard, but also introduces what could be, Louisville Slugger’s all-time greatest youth bat model to USA bat market for the first time. The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 USA Bat is the company’s first fully composite USA bat version and promises to produce the same high-level performance that has built such a solid reputation for Prime youth bat model in years past. Much like the Select 719, the Prime 919 features a 3-piece connectivity design however the Prime 919 encompasses a fully 100% composite handle, barrel, and end cap. The new connection mechanism found within all multi construction Louisville Slugger youth bat this season is their patented VCX Technology. This system drastically reduces the shock vibrations that regularly reaches a hitter’s hands while also allowing for independent movement of energy between the handle and barrel thus creating an unmatched traditional and stiff feel not found with any other youth bat. The MicroForm barrel houses a newly formulated composite that delivers the maximum amount of pop potential with a durable substance and enlarged sweet spot. Capping the top of the 2 5/8 big barrel is Louisville’s brand new RTX end cap which expands the barrel length and produced a deafening sound when colliding with a baseball. The composite handle comes wrapped in the LS Pro Comfort grip. This tape perfectly complements all the elements of the Prime 919 by adding extra cushion and a super comfy feel to an already supremely balanced swing weight. The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 offers both power and contact hitters optimum pop, speed, balance, and comfort that will help to create a consistent rhythm required for level swings, quicker swing velocities and dynamic offensive production. The Prime 919 is one of the best USA bats for players to utilize from ages 9-13 depending on your player’s respective size, strength, and wing span.
